Nevada Garden Clubs, Inc. Scholarship

The Nevada Garden Clubs, Inc. offers an annual scholarship to qualified college students. The deadline for application is February 1 of each year. Please click here to go to our Scholarships page to download the forms.

We have had exciting news from National Garden Clubs!

The winner of our NV Garden Club $1500 scholarship, Cameron Nicole Yetta, has also been awarded a National Garden Club $4000 scholarship for 2020-2021!!

Very Special Thanks to Kathy Carlson, our Nevada Scholarship Chair, who worked so hard on finding such a worthy candidate as Ms. Yetta.

Flower Show School IV – June 22-24, 2021

I’m writing to you about Flower Show School IV because of its content. I have received the student outlines and they focus heavily on schedule writing for flower shows. Therefore, it would be invaluable for any member who is or who might have a chance to be involved in writing a schedule. It also has information on evaluating a flower show for an achievement award.

On top of that, on the Design Day you will be taught about Abstract Designs – an Abstract Creative, Assemblage and Duo Design.

In horticulture, exhibiting suggestions of various types of entries will be included plus information about various species and cultivars of agaves and basils.

If you’re not taking the exam on Friday, you can just relax and enjoy the subjects being taught. Also, you will have generous lunches and snacks. What more can you ask for as a break from staying home.

Blue Star Contest

Objective: To spark pride in the Blue/Gold memorial markers in Nevada

Rules: One or more members must visit each marker and must appear in a picture taken of the marker. PRIZE $100.00. Once all 13 Memorials have been visited by a club, all pictures should be sent to the Nevada State Blue/Gold Star Memorial Chairman, Kristie Livreri. Applications for the special reward must be received by the Chairman by May 15, 2021. In the event of a tie, the visiting dignitary at the state meeting will make a choice based on pictures.
